About the Mizu Series

The Mizu Series takes its name from the Japanese word for water. Its soft blue glaze moves between pale blue, grey and deeper shades, with fine speckling that gives the surface a gentle depth.

The glaze highlights the throwing lines, settling into the curves and ridges of each piece. Areas of exposed clay bring a warm contrast to the cooler blue tones.

Each piece is wheel-thrown by hand in small batches in my home studio in the Netherlands. Natural variations in shape, clay and glaze make every one unique.
