This series was why I originally started following Ikkai Ceramics on Instagram. I fell in love with it the first time I saw one of these faceted chawan and knew I wanted one. Unfortunately, by the time I saw it, it had already sold out. All I could do was hope Abel would make more of these (and buy a bunch of other Ikkai bowls in the meantime 😄). Fortunately, he did make more. I chose this one as my favourite and it didn't disappoint. The glaze drops on the bottom are perfectly imperfect and the feel of them brings my attention to the moment. The colour is beautifully rich and it's wonderful to drink my morning matcha from it. My collection is expanding, so it's getting more difficult to choose which chawan to use, but this is definitely a special one.
