EXACT PIECE PICTURED - You will receive the exact piece shown in the photographs

A one-of-a-kind handmade ceramic lampshade from my Mori Series. At 26 cm in diameter and 8.5 cm high, it has a softly rounded shape that opens out towards a wide rim.

I left much of the outside unglazed so the natural colour and matte texture of the stoneware remain visible. On one side, glossy forest-green glaze wraps over the rim, leaving a few small trails on the bare clay. On the other, clear glaze lets the pale colour of the stoneware show through.

The inside is finished in both forest-green and clear glaze. The throwing lines are still visible beneath the glaze, especially on the green side.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT

The wide, rounded shape works well above a small dining table or kitchen counter. From the side, you see the matte stoneware and a sweep of glossy green along the rim. From below, the contrast between the deep green and the pale clay comes into view.

ABOUT THE SERIES

The Mori Series is inspired by the deep greens and stillness of the forest. Each piece is made from stoneware clay and finished with a combination of glossy forest-green and clear glaze. The clear glaze lets the natural colour of the clay show through. The name Mori means ‘forest’ in Japanese and reflects the rich green tones of the collection.

During firing, the green glaze flows a little differently on each piece. Sometimes it stays close to the rim, while on others it leaves small trails across the matte clay. Together with subtle variations in shape and texture, this gives each piece its own character.
