Chopstick & Matcha Spoon Rest – Kannyū

These rectangular rests from the Yuki Series were made with slow mornings and quiet dinners in mind. I shape each one by hand, one at a time, with soft corners and a clean, simple form. Finished in a transparent crackle glaze (kannyū), the surface stays soft and subtle, with fine lines and textures revealing themselves over time. The natural clay underneath adds warmth and depth, while the crackles become part of the piece’s story the more it’s used.

They’re just right for resting your chopsticks or matcha spoon. A small, honest piece that brings a little calm to your table or tea moment.

Please note: The matcha spoon is not included, but can be added to complete your tea setup.

Due to the nature of the crackle glaze (kannyū), fine lines may develop subtle staining over time — especially when used with tea or matcha. This natural patina is part of the piece’s story, adding character and a sense of use.

If you prefer to keep the glaze looking light and clean, it's best to rinse the rest soon after use. You can also occasionally rub the surface with a gentle baking soda paste and rinse thoroughly to help protect the crackle and maintain its clarity.
