A small, wheel-thrown espresso cup from my Yuki Series, made from warm stoneware clay and finished with a flowing white glaze.

The Yuki glaze covers the inside and upper part of the cup before moving softly over the natural clay. The uneven edge of the glaze creates gentle drips and variations, making the meeting point between the white glaze and exposed clay slightly different on every cup.

Visible throwing lines and a small raised foot complete the simple, Japanese-inspired shape. With a capacity of approximately 150 ml, it is a lovely size for an espresso, doppio, cortado or another small coffee.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT

The compact shape sits comfortably in the hand and is designed for those smaller coffee moments when you want to slow down and enjoy every sip.

The soft white glaze contrasts beautifully with the warm natural clay beneath it. Rather than following a perfectly straight line, the glaze moves naturally around the cup, highlighting the throwing lines and handmade character.

At 150 ml, it offers more space than a traditional espresso cup while still feeling small and intimate. It is ideal for a double espresso, cortado or a small coffee with milk.

Each cup is thrown and glazed by hand. Small differences in shape, glaze movement and colour are a natural part of the process.

ABOUT THE SERIES

The Yuki Series is inspired by the softness and stillness of freshly fallen snow. Each piece is made with warm toffee clay and finished with a flowing, glossy white glaze—highlighting the contrast between raw earth and gentle light. The name Yuki, meaning “snow” in Japanese, reflects the quiet beauty, calm, and purity found in this collection.

Every bowl, cup, and holder in the series carries its own character—subtle variations in shape, tone, and glaze that celebrate the handmade process and invite you to slow down and enjoy the moment.
