This handmade Yunomi Cup is part of my Black Truffle Series, finished in a deep matte glaze with rich, earthy tones.

Each cup is individually thrown on my pottery wheel before slip is applied by hand to the outside, creating the raised lines and organic texture around the cup. During firing, the Black Truffle glaze reacts with this textured surface, creating subtle shifts between almost black, charcoal and warm brown.

The softly rounded Yunomi shape feels comfortable in your hands and is made for everyday use, perfect for coffee, cappuccino, tea and other warm drinks.

Because the slip is applied by hand and every cup is individually glazed, there will always be subtle differences from one piece to another.

ABOUT THE SERIES

The Black Truffle Series is inspired by the deep, earthy tones and natural beauty of black truffles. Its rich matte glaze moves between warm black, charcoal and subtle brown tones as the light changes, giving each piece a quiet depth and understated elegance.

Many of the pieces are individually carved by hand, creating textured surfaces that catch the light and make the dark glaze feel even more alive. Alongside the smoother forms, each piece is handmade in small batches, allowing the natural variations in the carving, clay and glaze to make every one completely unique.
