Carved Matcha Bowl – Moonstone Glaze #01

I carved this bowl slowly, ridge by ridge, letting the clay guide the pattern. Each line is cut by hand while the piece is still leather-hard, so the texture you feel under your fingertips is shaped directly by the tools and by my own rhythm that day.

The pale moonstone glaze pools inside those carved grooves, creating soft shadows and a quiet shimmer—like moonlight catching on stone. Where the glaze thins, the warm clay peeks through, giving the surface a gentle glow. No two bowls ever come out the same; every carving and every glaze movement has its own story.

• Shape: Wheel-thrown, then individually hand-carved with vertical facets
• Size: 6.5cm height x 11cm diameter
• Capacity: Approx. 500ml
• Finish: Moonstone glaze with a soft, silky finish
• Material: Durable stoneware clay, fired at 1222°C
