Carved Yunomi Cup - Black Truffle
Carved Yunomi Cup - Black Truffle

A cup that feels as good in the hand as it looks on the shelf.
Each Black Truffle Yunomi is wheel-thrown in my home studio and individually hand-carved, creating the flowing vertical lines that wrap around the form. The carving catches the glaze differently across the surface, revealing subtle variation, texture, and depth. No two cups are ever exactly alike.
Finished in my Black Truffle glaze, the surface shifts between deep charcoal, rich brown, and soft earthy tones depending on the light. The result is a cup that feels quiet, tactile, and full of character.

Why You’ll Love It
These are the kind of cups that naturally become part of your daily routine.
The carved texture gives them a wonderful feel in the hand, while the gently rounded form sits comfortably between your fingers. The vertical lines are carved by hand after throwing, meaning each cup develops its own rhythm and character.
I especially love how the Black Truffle glaze settles into the carving. In some places it appears almost black, while in others warmer brown tones emerge as the light moves across the surface. The more time you spend with the cup, the more details you begin to notice.
Perfect for tea, coffee, matcha, sake, or any favourite drink, these cups are designed to be used every day while still feeling special each time you pick one up.
