Ceramic Lamp Shade – Inyo #04

Part of the Inyo Series, this handmade ceramic lampshade combines warm natural clay with flowing layers of clear and Tenmoku glaze. The glossy interior catches and reflects the light beautifully, creating a soft, warm glow that feels inviting from the moment you switch it on.

The taller shape of this lampshade was designed with atmosphere in mind. The bulb sits fully hidden inside the shade, so you never look directly into the light source. Instead, the light is gently diffused, creating a calm and comfortable feeling in the room.

The contrast between the rich dark glaze and the raw clay exterior is what makes the Inyo Series so distinctive. During firing, the glazes move naturally, creating subtle transitions and unique details that cannot be repeated exactly.

It works beautifully above a dining table, in a cosy corner, or hanging lower beside the bed. I especially love how the light travels across the glossy interior, revealing the subtle throwing rings and creating that welcoming atmosphere.
