Double-Walled Bowl - Inyo #09
Double-Walled Bowl - Inyo #09

This double-walled bowl from the Inyo Series is one of those pieces that quietly steals your attention. The outside is soft, rounded, and completely raw — a warm toffee-toned clay with gentle throwing lines that wrap around the form. Inside, the clear and tenmoku glazes melt into each other with those deep browns, golds, and soft blue tones that make the Inyo Series so special.
And hidden between the inner and outer form… it’s actually hollow. A double wall is incredibly tricky to make on the wheel, but the lightness and the shape you get in return make it worth every moment.

Why You’ll Love It
This piece has such a calm presence. The inside holds those flowing, spontaneous Inyo colours — warm, earthy, and a little dramatic — while the outside stays minimal and soft to the touch. The double wall gives it a light, almost floating feeling when you hold it.
It’s perfect for dips, snacks, sauces, or simply as a sculptural little piece on your table or as a little catch-all for your rings or jewellery. It’s one of those bowls you keep picking up just because it feels nice in your hands.
About the Inyo Series
The Inyo Series began as a quiet experiment. I was curious what might happen if I dipped each piece in two different glazes — one dark and rich tenmoku, the other soft and transparent clear glaze. The result reminded me of a landscape: layered, spontaneous, and full of contrast.
“Inyo” is the Japanese word for yin and yang — and this series reflects that idea in both form and finish. Where the two glazes meet, something new and unexpected always appears. Some flows are bold, others gentle — each piece completely unique.
Every item in the series is made slowly and intuitively by hand. The variation in the glazes gives them a sense of quiet movement, and a presence that goes beyond function.
Perfect for anyone who appreciates both the bold and the simple.
