Espresso Cup - Inyo #01

This small espresso cup is part of the Inyo Series, inspired by the contrast between dark and light, raw and refined. Wheel-thrown by hand and finished with a combination of glossy tenmoku glaze and clear glaze over warm toffee-toned clay, each cup carries its own unique movement and character. The meeting point between the glazes creates natural flowing lines and subtle variations that make every piece feel one of a kind.
Its softly tapered shape sits comfortably in the hand, making it perfect for espresso, lungo, or your favourite slow morning coffee. Small, simple, and easy to reach for every day.

Why You’ll Love It
The beauty of this cup comes from the contrast between the glossy dark tenmoku glaze and the softer clear glaze flowing over the warm clay beneath. The way the glazes meet creates natural movement and depth, giving each cup its own quiet personality.
It’s the kind of cup that slowly becomes part of your daily routine. Comfortable to hold, satisfying to drink from, and beautiful sitting on a shelf between uses.

About the Inyo Series
The Inyo Series is inspired by balance and contrast — dark and light, glossy and raw, simplicity and movement. Each piece is made from warm toffee-colored stoneware and finished with a combination of rich tenmoku glaze and flowing clear glaze, creating unique patterns where the two meet.
What started as an experimental glaze combination slowly became one of the most recognizable parts of the IKKAI collection. No two pieces ever come out exactly the same, and that unpredictability is part of what makes the series feel so alive and handmade.
