Faceted Matcha Bowl - Hinoki #01

Part of the Hinoki Series, this faceted matcha bowl is finished in a rich green glaze that settles beautifully across the carved surfaces, creating depth, variation, and movement. The way the glaze interacts with each facet gives the bowl a constantly changing appearance as the light shifts throughout the day.

The shape was carved by hand after throwing, creating gentle facets that catch the light and highlight the form. Combined with the slightly flared rim and lifted foot, the bowl feels balanced, comfortable to hold, and full of character.

Every bowl in this series is thrown on my potter’s wheel, so no two are exactly the same. The little differences in shape and glaze are what make each one special.
