This handmade matcha bowl has a faceted exterior, a pouring spout and a glossy white glaze. Each bowl is finished with splashes of cobalt blue, but this batch came out of the kiln with an unexpected colour change.

A green glaze on another bowl reacted during firing, giving the cobalt splashes a greener tone in places. I love how it turned out: the colour shifts between blue and green across the white glaze, making each bowl a little different.

The facets give the bowl a lovely feel in your hands, while the spout makes it easy to pour your matcha into another cup.
