I love how the deep tenmoku glaze meets the clear finish inside — it flows differently every time, so each bowl feels like a small surprise when I open the kiln.

About the Inyo Series

The Inyo Series was born from an experiment: dipping one piece in two contrasting glazes and letting them flow together across the clay. The result reminded me of a landscape — layered, spontaneous, and full of contrast.

“Inyo” is the Japanese word for yin and yang, and this series reflects that idea through both form and finish. Every bowl becomes its own meeting point between opposites, where something new and unexpected always appears.

Each piece is handmade slowly and intuitively, carrying a surface that feels alive and balanced. The Inyo Series is a reminder that beauty often comes from contrast.
