Inspired by the Japanese idea of balance, this handmade dinner plate combines glossy tenmoku and clear glaze in a flowing organic pattern that makes every piece unique. The contrast between the rich dark glaze and the lighter surface creates movement across the plate, while the exposed clay details add warmth and character.
A versatile piece designed for everyday meals and beautifully presented food.

Why You’ll Love It
What makes this plate special is the way the two glazes meet across the surface. During firing, the tenmoku and clear glaze develop their own character, creating subtle variations and depth that can never be repeated exactly.
The organic shape gives each plate its own personality. Rather than being perfectly round, the form gently shifts and flows around the edge, highlighting the handmade nature of the piece and making every plate feel unique.
Its wide, shallow profile provides plenty of room for plating while maintaining a relaxed, natural feel. Perfect for dinner, pasta, salads, shared dishes, or simply elevating everyday meals.
About the Inyo Series
The Inyo Series is about contrast and balance. Inyo is the Japanese word for yin and yang, and this collection reflects that spirit — through glaze, form, and intention.
Most pieces bring together two glazes, tenmoku and clear, flowing across the clay. But this plate shows another approach: keeping it purely tenmoku, letting the darkness stand on its own. The result is still true to the series — bold yet quiet, refined yet raw.
Every piece is wheel-thrown and glazed by hand, which means no two are ever the same. That individuality is the beauty of small-batch work.
