This ramen bowl from the Inyo Series has become one of my favorite shapes to make. It’s deep and generous, with a wide, rounded form and a steady base that feels solid in your hands.
The surface tells its own story: one half dipped in glossy, almost black tenmoku glaze, the other in a clear glaze that lets the toffee clay shine through. Where they meet, the glazes flow in ways I can never fully control — sometimes bold and defined, sometimes soft and blended. Every bowl is different, and that’s exactly what I love about this series.
It’s a lovely size for your favorite noodle bowl, a generous salad, or something warm and comforting at the end of the day. Honest, simple, and made to be used.

Why You’ll Love It
This bowl brings a sense of stillness. It’s smooth on the inside, soft to the touch on the outside, and the way the glaze drips is always a little surprise out of the kiln. It’s the kind of piece you’ll want to reach for again and again — because it works, and because it feels good to hold.
Perfect for a comforting bowl of ramen or udon, and especially beautiful when paired with our wooden chopsticks or ceramic chopstick holders. Together they make a complete and stylish set for your table.
Also a beautiful gift for someone who appreciates simple, well-made things.
About the Inyo Series
The Inyo Series began as a quiet experiment. I was curious what might happen if I dipped each piece in two different glazes — one dark and rich tenmoku, the other soft and transparent clear glaze. The result reminded me of a landscape: layered, spontaneous, and full of contrast.
“Inyo” is the Japanese word for yin and yang — and this series reflects that idea in both form and finish. Where the two glazes meet, something new and unexpected always appears. Some flows are bold, others gentle — each piece completely unique.
Every item in the series is made slowly and intuitively by hand. The variation in the glazes gives them a sense of quiet movement, and a presence that goes beyond function.
Perfect for anyone who appreciates both the bold and the simple.
