Yunomi Cup - Kuro Ash #02

The Kuro Yunomi Cup is wheel-thrown using a grey stoneware clay and finished in a deep glossy black glaze with soft natural movement across the surface. During firing, some cups develop subtle golden speckles within the glaze, giving each piece extra depth and variation.
I make every yunomi individually by hand in my home studio, allowing the small throwing lines, uneven edges, and natural glaze flow to remain visible. The dark glaze contrasts beautifully against the raw clay beneath, creating a piece that feels both earthy and refined at the same time.
Its rounded footed shape sits comfortably in the hands, making it ideal for tea, coffee, matcha, or slow mornings at home.

Why You’ll Love It
This yunomi has a calm and slightly moody feel to it that I really love. The glossy black glaze catches the light beautifully, while the raw clay keeps the piece feeling warm and natural in the hands.
The shape feels balanced and comfortable to hold, becoming the kind of cup you slowly reach for more and more over time. It’s the kind of cup that slowly becomes part of your daily routine and feels better with every use.
Perfect for tea, coffee, matcha, or simply enjoying a quiet moment during the day.
