The Yuki Ash Yunomi Cup is wheel-thrown using an ash-grey stoneware clay and finished with a soft flowing glossy white glaze. The darker clay body gives the glaze a calm and natural appearance, while the exposed textured clay adds warmth and character to the piece.
Each cup is handmade individually in my studio, allowing the throwing lines, soft curves, and natural glaze movement to become part of its final personality. The glaze settles differently every time, creating subtle movement and variation that makes each yunomi completely one of a kind.
Its rounded footed form feels balanced and comfortable in the hands, perfect for tea, coffee, or slow mornings at home

Why You’ll Love It
What I love most about this yunomi is the contrast between the raw textured clay and the soft flowing white glaze. The glaze naturally moves across the surface during firing, creating gentle lines and soft transitions that can never be repeated exactly the same way twice.
The exposed clay gives the cup an earthy and tactile feel in the hands, while the glossy glazed interior feels smooth and comfortable to drink from every day.
Its slightly rounded shape sits naturally in the palms, making it the kind of cup you slowly reach for more and more over time.
Perfect for tea, coffee, or simply enjoying a quiet moment during the day.

About the Kuro Collection
“Kuro” means black in Japanese. The Kuro Collection is inspired by volcanic textures, dark stone surfaces, and natural earthy materials.
The textured clay moves differently on every piece, creating depth and variation that can never be repeated exactly the same way twice. No two pieces are ever identical, and those differences are embraced as part of the handmade process.
