Each Carved Christmas Tree from the Inyo Series is thrown on the wheel and hollow inside, then slowly hand-carved on the outside, creating soft lines and textures that flow gently around the form.

It’s finished with a glossy tenmoku glaze that settles beautifully into each carved groove — dark brown and black tones shifting with the light, revealing a quiet richness in every angle.

The result is simple, elegant, and full of presence. A small piece that brings warmth, balance, and a sense of calm to your home.

About the Inyo Series

The Inyo Series began as a quiet experiment. I was curious what might happen if I dipped each piece in two different glazes — one dark and rich tenmoku, the other soft and transparent clear glaze. The result reminded me of a landscape: layered, spontaneous, and full of contrast.

“Inyo” is the Japanese word for yin and yang — and this series reflects that idea in both form and finish. Where the two glazes meet, something new and unexpected always appears. Some flows are bold, others gentle — each piece completely unique.

Every item in the series is made slowly and intuitively by hand. The variation in the glazes gives them a sense of quiet movement, and a presence that goes beyond function.
