This Inyo Serving Bowl carries the quiet balance that defines the series. The soft toffee coloured clay is partly covered in clear glaze, while a flowing sweep of deep tenmoku creates a natural contrast inside the bowl. The meeting point between dark and light shifts gently, creating movement and depth across the surface.

The form is wide and generous with a slightly taller wall, giving it presence while still feeling elegant and refined.

Please note: This bowl has a tiny shallow tear line at the base. It is visible on the foot and shown clearly in the photos. The bowl is fully functional and watertight, but because of this small imperfection it is offered at a reduced price.

About the Inyo Series

The Inyo Series was born from an experiment: dipping one piece in two contrasting glazes and letting them flow together across the clay. The result reminded me of a landscape — layered, spontaneous, and full of contrast.

“Inyo” is the Japanese word for yin and yang, and this series reflects that idea through both form and finish. Every bowl becomes its own meeting point between opposites, where something new and unexpected always appears.

Each piece is handmade slowly and intuitively, carrying a surface that feels alive and balanced. The Inyo Series is a reminder that beauty often comes from contrast.
