Kinsei, meaning golden star in Japanese, has a presence that instantly draws you in. The outside is carved by hand, creating long vertical lines that catch the glaze in the most beautiful way — deep brown in the grooves, golden on the raised edges, almost like sunlight slipping through a forest.

Inside, the glaze pools into a rich, glossy swirl that follows the shaping of the wheel. It glows softly, shifting from deep amber to warm brown, giving the bowl a quiet sense of movement.

And then there’s the spout — shaped to pour smoothly, adding just a touch of usefulness without taking anything away from the elegance of the bowl.
