This handmade Matcha Bowl with Spout is part of my Inyo Series. Each bowl is finished with two very different glazes. A dark, glossy tenmoku glaze meets a soft, transparent glaze over warm stoneware clay.
I throw every bowl on the wheel in my home studio and apply both glazes by hand. The way they overlap and flow during firing is always slightly different, giving each bowl its own pattern and character.
The small spout makes it easy to pour matcha, sauces and dressings, while the rounded shape provides plenty of space for whisking.
Please note: The matcha whisk, spoon and whisk holder are not included. You can add them below to complete your matcha setup.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT
WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT
The contrast between the two glazes is what makes this bowl special. The dark tenmoku glaze moves across the surface, while the transparent glaze reveals the warm clay underneath. Where the two meet, they create a pattern that is unique to each bowl.
The spout makes pouring easy and controlled. The bowl feels smooth, sturdy and balanced in your hands, with plenty of space for preparing matcha. It can also be used for serving sauces and dressings.
It is a practical bowl with plenty of character, made to be used and enjoyed as part of your everyday rituals.
Complete your matcha setup with a matching Inyo whisk holder and my bamboo tea accessories.
ABOUT THE SERIES
ABOUT THE SERIES
The Inyo Series began as a quiet experiment. I was curious what might happen if I dipped each piece in two different glazes. One dark and rich Tenmoku, the other soft and transparent clear glaze. The result reminded me of a landscape: layered, spontaneous, and full of contrast.
“Inyo” is the Japanese word for yin and yang and this series reflects that idea in both form and finish. Where the two glazes meet, something new and unexpected always appears. Some flows are bold, others gentle — each piece completely unique.
Every item in the series is made slowly and intuitively by hand. The variation in the glazes gives them a sense of quiet movement, and a presence that goes beyond function.
