The Yuki Ash Matcha Bowl is made using an ash-grey clay and finished with a flowing glossy white glaze. The darker clay body gives the glaze a soft and calm appearance, with subtle depth and variation throughout the piece.
Each bowl is thrown on the wheel by hand, allowing small throwing lines, soft curves, and natural glaze movement to become part of the final character. I let the glaze flow naturally during firing, creating soft drips and movement around the bowl that make every piece slightly different.
The rounded shape feels balanced and comfortable in the hands, making it perfect for preparing matcha, slow mornings, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with your favourite tea.

Why You’ll Love It
I really love the balance between the raw clay and soft glossy glaze in this series. The ash-grey clay gives the bowl a soft and earthy appearance, while the flowing white glaze adds movement across the surface.
The glaze settles differently on every bowl during firing, creating natural drips, layering, and subtle variation that can never be repeated exactly the same way twice.
Inside, the bowl is fully glazed with a smooth glossy finish that feels soft to use every day. The rounded form also gives enough room to whisk matcha comfortably into a creamy foam.
Pair it with a Matching Whisk Holder or Bamboo Tea Accessories to complete your matcha setup.
