Medium Vase/Jug – Mori #02

A sculptural Mori piece with a gentle, natural feel. This vase has a rounded, sturdy form that brings a touch of the forest indoors. It also works beautifully as a small jug, giving you both charm and function in one piece.

The upper half and inside are finished with layered glossy green and clear glazes that melt softly over the surface. The base is left raw, showing the warm toffee clay that gives the Mori Series its earthy character. The contrast feels calm and organic, with a smooth transition between glaze and clay.

• Shape: Tall cylinder with a narrow spout
• Size: Approx. 16.5cm height x 9cm diameter
• Finish: Layered glossy green and clear glazes on the top, raw clay on the lower half
• Material: Stoneware, fired at 1222°C

Each vase is handmade on my potter’s wheel, so no two are alike. The variations in glaze, splash patterns, and shape highlight the artistry behind every piece, making yours truly one of a kind.

The word Mori means forest in Japanese — a symbol of depth, stillness, and renewal. This series reflects that spirit through flowing green glazes and warm clay bodies, meeting in surfaces that are always spontaneous and alive.

Each piece is wheel-thrown and glazed by hand, allowing the glaze to move freely and settle in ways that can never be repeated. The Mori Series carries the calm strength of the forest, bringing a touch of green into everyday life.
